Dillingham Airfield is a regional airport of the State of Hawai'i. Dillingham Airfield is designated with the International Air Transport Association code HDH. Located on the North Shore of O'ahu near the unincorporated town of Waialua, most flights to Dillingham Airfield originate from commuter airports on the other Swarovski Hawaiian islands by unscheduled air taxis and general aviation. It is also used as a recreation facility, a base for glider soaring, hang-gliding, parachuting and sky jumping.

Facilities

As a general aviation joint-use facility, the airfield has one runway, a control tower, several hangars, and a tie down area for recreation aircraft. There no other facilities and no plans to make improvements or expand. Air traffic is limited to daytime operations by small single-engine and light twin-engine aircraft, sailplanes, ultra-lights aircraft, and helicopters.

Authority

Dillingham Airfield is part of a centralized state structure governing all of the airports and seaports of Hawai'i. The official authority of Dillingham Airfield is the Governor of Hawai'i. He or she appoints the Director of the Hawai'i State Department of Transportation who has jurisdiction over the Hawai'i Airports Administrator.

The Hawai'i Airports Administrator oversees six governing bodies: Airports Operations Office, Airports Planning Office, Engineering Branch, Information Technology Office, Staff Services Office, Visitor Information Program Office. Collectively, the six bodies have authority over the four airport districts in Hawai'i: Hawai'i District, Kaua'i District, Mau'i District and the principal O'ahu District. Dillingham Airfield is a subordinate of the O'ahu District officials.

A waiting area, dance hall or even the restaurant on board a passenger liner can be pleasingly decorated with collectors cases, curio cabinets, display cabinets and with display showcases.
